Mac: 久しぶりにMacの電源を入れたら色々とアップデートが。

3週間の出張から帰ってきて久しぶりにMacBook Airの電源を入れてみるとAppleから色々なアップッデートがリリースされていました。

Software Updateとして「Java for OS X 2o12-006 1.0」「デジタルカメラRAW互換性アップデート 4.01」そして「Safari 6.0.2」の3つがインストール可能として表示されました。

「Java for OS X 2012-006 1.0」はセキュリティ、信頼性、安定性の改善。「デジタルカメラRAW互換性アップデート 4.01」はウチが最近購入したSONY Cyber-shot RX-100やその他の新たなデジタルカメラモデルのRAWファイルをiPhotoやApatureで扱える様にするアップデート。そして「Safari 6.0.2」についてはセキュリティの改善の為のアップデートとの事です。

SONY Cyber-shot RX-100を2012年7月に購入してからずっとRAWとJPGの両方で記録しながら写真を撮影してきたのですが、ずっとRAWファイルがiPhotoで取り込めなかったため、取り込み待ちの状態でずっとフォルダに保存してありました。これでようやくRAWファイルもiPhotoに取り込んで管理したりiPhone、iPadと同期する事が出来そうで便利になります。

Apple: MobileMeからiCloud以降時の無料ストレージが1年延長

2011年、iCloudが登場した際にMobileMeのサービス提供が終了して、MobileMeユーザーは自動的にiCloudサービスへ移行となりました。

その際MobileMeで提供されていたiDiskの容量よりもiCloudサービスで無料提供されるストレージが少ない為、アップルはMobileMeからiCloudへの移行ユーザーに対して無償で2012年9月30日までの期限付きで追加ストレージを提供していました。そんな事をすっかり忘れていた10月6日、Appleから「長らくMobileMeサービスを利用していたユーザーに、更にもう1年追加ストレージを無料で提供します」というメールが届きました。

対象ユーザーの条件等は分かりませんが、有料のサービスを従来長期間利用していたユーザーに配慮した対応の様ですね。

なお、ウチはiDiskの様にファイル、フォルダをファインダーから自由に扱えるサービスの方が便利と思っている為、iDiskサービス終了後はDropboxに移行してしまいました。友達とのサイズの大きなファイルのやり取りやコラボレーションにはGoogle Driveを使っています。

勿論、iPhone、iPad、Mac間のカレンダーや連絡先の同期にはiCloudを使っていますし、AndroidスマートフォンにもiCloudのコンタクトを出来るアプリを使っており、iCloudになってからもAppleのサービスは重宝しています。

Mac: OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2 Supplemental Update リリース

2012年10月4日にアップルからOS X Mountain Lionバージョン10.8.2の追加アップデートがリリースされています。OS X 10.8.2に対して以下の変更が加えられています。

  • Resolves an issue that may cause certain Japanese characters to appear incorrectly in Mail
    メールアプリにおいていくつかの日本語文字が正しく表示されない場合がある問題の修正
  • Allows Safari to access secure sites when parental controls are enabled
    Parentalコントロールが有効な場合にSafariがセキュアなサイトにアクセス出来る様に修正
  • Addresses an issue that may prevent systems with more than 64 GB of RAM from starting up
    64GB以上のRAMを搭載したシステム起動に問題があった場合の修正
  • Resolves an issue that may cause DVD Player to unexpectedly quit
    DVDプレイヤーアプリが異常終了してしまう場合の修正

ダウンロードとインストールはMac App Storeのアップデートから。適用にはMacの再起動が必要です。

アップデートするとAbout This Macの画面で表示されるOS Xのバージョンビルド番号が OS X 10.8.2 の 12C54 から 12C60 に変更となります。

Mac: OS X 10.8.2 Mountain Lion Updateのインストール後

今日ウチのブログでも紹介したMountain Lionの最新版OS X 10.8.2をインストールしてみました。色々な機能が追加になっていますが、ウチにとって楽しみだったiMessageの改良とFacebook統合について画面スクリーンショットを撮ってみました。

既にうちの場合はiPhoneの携帯電話番号でiMessageを使っているのですが、OS X 10.8.1までのMessagesアプリではメールアドレスでのみメッセージを送受信出来ていましたが、携帯電話の番号を用いた送受信は出来ませんでした。OS X 10.8.2によって、Apple IDに紐付けされている携帯電話番号を用いたメッセージのやり取りもOS X上のMessagesから出来る様になりました。

OS X 10.8.2を適用後にOSが再起動し、ログインすると以下の様なダイアログが表示されました。YesをクリックするとOS XのMessagesで携帯電話向けのメッセージの受信と、携帯電話番号を発信者としたメッセージの送信が出来る様になります。

Facebookについてはシステム環境設定の「Mail, Contacts & Calendars」のパネルの新しいアカウントのタイプに「Facebook」が追加になっています。

既に持っているFacebookアカウントでログインすると説明が表示され、コンタクトの連携が出来る様になります。また、通知センターにFacebookにポストを送信する為の項目が追加になります。もちろん、その他のSafari等のアプリからもFacebookへの共有機能が追加になります。

今回のMountain Lion更新で益々便利に、使いやすくなった気がします。

ちなみに、携帯電話番号のiMessageをOS XのMessagesアプリでやり取りする様にするとiPhoneの画面にもその旨が表示されます。

Mac: GrowlがバージョンアップしてOS XのNotification Centerに対応

様々なアプリと連携したり、APIを使ってOS Xのデスクトップに通知メッセージを表示できるGrowlアプリ。ウチは有料化される前（Mac App Store経由での配信に変更になる前）から使っており、Adiumなどのチャットアプリと連携させて誰かがログインしたときやメッセージがあったときにデスクトップ上に通知を表示して活用しています。

このGrowlのバージョン2.0がリリースされ、OS X Mountain Lionで導入された通知センターへの対応が行われています。

General

  • Adds support for OS X notification centre on 10.8.
  • Adds in support for Prowl and Boxcar services as action displays.
  • Rollup has better idle detection.
  • Growl is now sandboxed.

Preferences

  • The ON/OFF switch throughout Growl should be easier to understand now.

Displays

  • Speech now introduces greater control.
  • Separates Action displays from Visual displays.
  • Music Video can now left and right justify text.
  • Fixes height problems for multi line notifications in Music Video.
  • Nano ca now display in multiple locations, left, centre and right.
  • Added an SoundAction display.
  • Added a way to not have and visual notifications.

Bug fixes

  • Resolves the hight CPU issue.
  • Resolves multiple crashes.
  • Shortcuts can now be unset.

CPU使用率が高くなる不具合の修正もされており、発生有無にかかわらず適用しておいた方が良さそうなアップデートですね。

Mac: OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2 リリース

AppleからMountain Lionのマイナーアップグレード V.10.8.2 がリリースされています。Facebookの統合やiMessageの改良、Game CenterとFacebookの連携等が行われています。

Facebook

  • Single sign on for Facebook

The 10.8.2 update also includes general operating system fixes that improve the stability, compatibility and security of your Mac, including the following fixes:

  • An option to discard the changes in the original document when choosing Save As
  • Unsent drafts are opened automatically when launching Mail
  • Receive Twitter notifications for mentions and replies from anyone
  • URLs are shortened when sending tweets from Notification Center
  • Notifications are disabled when AirPlay Mirroring is being used
  • SSL support for Google searches from the Smart Search Field in Safari
  • New preference to have Safari launch with previously open webpages

Mac: iTunes Version 10.7リリース

先週2012年9月12日の事ですが、AppleからiTunes 10.7がリリースされています。

変更内容は以下の通り。

iTunes 10.7 adds support for iOS 6 running on compatible iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch models. This update also adds support for the latest iPod nano and iPod shuffle models.
iTunes 10.7 では、互換性のある iPhone、iPad、および iPod touch モデルで実行中の iOS 6 のサポートが追加されます。このアップデートでは、最新の iPod nano および iPod shuffle モデルのサポートも追加されます。
