様々なアプリと連携したり、APIを使ってOS Xのデスクトップに通知メッセージを表示できるGrowlアプリ。ウチは有料化される前（Mac App Store経由での配信に変更になる前）から使っており、Adiumなどのチャットアプリと連携させて誰かがログインしたときやメッセージがあったときにデスクトップ上に通知を表示して活用しています。
このGrowlのバージョン2.0がリリースされ、OS X Mountain Lionで導入された通知センターへの対応が行われています。
General
- Adds support for OS X notification centre on 10.8.
- Adds in support for Prowl and Boxcar services as action displays.

- The ON/OFF switch throughout Growl should be easier to understand now.
Displays
- Speech now introduces greater control.
- Separates Action displays from Visual displays.
- Music Video can now left and right justify text.
- Fixes height problems for multi line notifications in Music Video.
- Nano ca now display in multiple locations, left, centre and right.
- Added an SoundAction display.
- Added a way to not have and visual notifications.
Bug fixes
- Resolves the hight CPU issue.
- Resolves multiple crashes.
- Shortcuts can now be unset.
CPU使用率が高くなる不具合の修正もされており、発生有無にかかわらず適用しておいた方が良さそうなアップデートですね。
